Necromunda Orlocks – Efty Efties

First ones out for 2018, feeling good.
Rumour has it that there will en be proper Orlocks (if that was a thing) out end of next month, the miniatures displayed are looking quite fantabolous.
When that happens this loose network of fortuneseekers and gunslingers are more than likely to disperse.

We´ll see, they might also resurface later. The champion on the left needs a heavy stubber and I need to finish painting the latest recruit to the gang.

Then maybe I can move on to other stuff, maybe bulkheads. Maybe other terrain. Maybe civilians. Maybe a cybernetic dog. Yes, all of those are in my to do pile.
The suspense is immense.

Necromunda resurfaced

Last week some friends finally met up to try the new ruleset. Great fun was had. I brought my team of Orlocks, the Efty Efties. That stands for the Ferra Terra Farers and Traders, a loose network of hired guns and caravan guards that are associated with Orlock. Doing their dirty work. Realised the hard way that they were ill equipped, needs more autoguns and heavy stubbers. Thats added to the list. Lost all three games I played in but a lot of good fun was had. The new rules are nice, like the fact that you alternate activation. Its great. When we´re more acquainted with the stats of the weapons I do believe everything will run even more smoothly.

So what about the goals for 2017?
Blog posts, set out to do 27. Did 16. That´s OK.
Paint 100 minis (did 85 in 2016 and about 50 in 2015). Did 103 actually, so that´s fine.
Play games and write about them here. Yes.

Pledge for 2018 will be the same:
At least 16 posts, finish painting 103 miniatures but dont forget to play games.

Now when that is out the way, let´s focus on the big thing Necromunda is back.
I´m now starting to see Necroumunda everywhere in my everyday life, at the playground for instance. Checking the recycle bin for useful terrain pieces and looting broken kid´s toys. Now is the time to start actually do something with that loot. Or throw away some of it.

Here are some pics from that day.

My friend Jox did the scratchbuilt terrain and it is even more nice in person. I provided the terrain from last edition and as a matter of fact those bulkheads havent been painted until now. It was really a rush job, cheap acrylics to start with then wash with different washes. Im thinking of adding some chipping and drybrushin and perhaps some graffiti on them before they are varnished and called done. There are some more terrain in the pipeline, but they will be smaller and made to go with the cardboards. Like shanty town shacks and some shops. The idea is that it will be a part of the hive that is bordering the Ash Wastes as well, a friend has a beautiful desert mat. Im thinking of calling that section of the hive Barters junktion, just to have a name for it. I will also add some vehicles I think. Rumour has it from Open day that there will be rules for civilians later on, love that idea. First I need to finish painting my crew though.

Orctober: On the desk

Doing a 1000 pts Destruction force for an Age of Sigmar tournament this weekend.

My original plan was to do about 82 miniatures but then the new Generals Handbook came.

New plan will be an orc shaman as general, 40 grots and 3 ogors as battleline. To that i will have 3 trolls, 3 Gore gruntas and a unit of ardboyz. Plus a gobbo big boss. That makes it 61 models instead. Thats fine.

Plan is to present the units properly in individual posts but also put some of them up here already.
This is my cavalry, the general plus Gore gruntas.

Next are the Sourbreath Troggoths, not the sharpest knives in the toolshed. I call them the Stinktank. The’ve been rebased, touched up and varnished since I played with them last time.

Here is also some ogres, Mooch’s Bunch, since they are lead by the Ogre Captain Mooch. The model is Hrothyogg, the C23 ogre Captain, sculpted by Jes Goodwin. Probably my favourite ogre model. The other two are from Reaper Miniatures, part of the Bones3 kickstarter I received earlier this year.

Will do proper army pics this weekend.

N11 Giant Black Orcs

First 31 down, 51 to go.

Feels really good about this.

These miniatures are sculpted by Nick Lund, some of them are pre-slotta but some of them have slotta tabs. They’re about as old as me some of them. Some of them are from regiment of renown’s Eeza Ugezod’s Mother Crushers, some are labelled Giant Black Orcs. They are a bit wonky and maybe not as giant by comparison to other greenskins nowadays, I do like all of them a lot.

Next up are more gobbos but soon I’ll move onto bigger pieces.

Press molded silicone ghost pirate

Youngest nephew loves pirates, so I made special one for his birthday. Good fun was had and he seems to have liked it.

Summertime means usually less painting and more gaming, this year is not an exception.

I’ve reopened my 40K boxes and even played with the new rules, kind of likes them.

Plan is also to finish the shadow war Armageddon team as well as start a new warband for AoS.

Picking up 40k again meant opportunity to actually paint up some scenery that’s been unpainted for over 20 years, here’s some wip:

Today a box of goodies from reaper miniatures arrived, since I backed their bones 3 kickstarter two years ago. The to-be-painted pile is growing fast, but that’s ok though.

BloodBowl Ogre team – Ferlangen Jaded Serpents

What´s this? Chaos Ogres? In BloodBowl? Never heard of them. Yeah it´s not an official team per se, but bear with me. There is one available in the Chaos Pact team right and it´s not as if Chaos Ogres are totally unheard of in the Warhammer Universe, in the Old World that is. What´s transpiring in the bubbly realms that is called AoS I don´t know.

So it´s an Ogre team, dedicated to the Chaos God Slaanesh. Ostland is the most ogrepopulated province in the Empire so that is where they recide. Ferlangen is a small town in the Ostland province of the Empire. It´s mostly known as a trading town and has an abundance of antique shops, but also the famous Brewery of Sam Bugman.
Perfect place for a Slaaneshi Ogre Team right?

Here is a background thing I did for the Team Cup here in Stockholm 9-10 of April.

Jaded Sepents Team Background for stc 16 skärmdumpTurned out alright I think. In the team cup I´ll be joining forces with Pidpad, kaju and jox and the idea behind the cup is to focus on the performance of the team as a whole rather than the individual coaches. They did one last year, but I wasn´t able to participate then.
I think it will be great fun.

The Ogres are based on 40K Nobz and Badruks Flash gitz.

The second one from the right is greatly inspired by the old Hackflem Skuttlespike, I call him Gobblewhip Ripfiend. He will probably be a warpstone troll later on, when this team transforms into an Underworld one. Well, that is the current plan at least.

Here are the markers, new addition is the whfb chaos familiar second from left.

Here are some more sideline staff:

Left to right, apo, cheerleader and coach.

The apo is a secret admirer well known in society. But Slaanesh has followers everywhere. The miniature is found from Casting Room miniatures (an offspring from wargames foundry) and they are called Plague doctors. The snake on the base are from the whfb lizard swarm.

The cheerleader, forming the firm Järvens Espingar is an not-Bob-ogre made by Hungry Troll. The coach have I witten about earlier here.

And here they are, the team in full:

First minis of 2016! BloodBowl Troll slayers

Yeah, first up are two positionals for my dwarven team in BloodBowl.

The Trollslayers, “Fierce” Bossman and Dan E Gloveless, will be part of Dorf Chesthair City “The Pears”. Dan is so eager to get on the pitch so he isnt even properly dressed.

And here from the side:

The models are from Iron Golems kickstarter that finished last year and they are sculpted by the incredibly gifted Pedro Ramos. “Fierce” is supposedly the Grimm Ironjaw mini but I´m quite fond of him so I made him a permanent part of the team.

Some more reserves, bazooka and chainsaw in the piles.

Earlier WIP photos of the team. As you can see more are on the way.

And here´s the front of the box.

Painted in 2016: 2

Bought in 2016: 0

The painted/bought ratio is so far so good but we´ll see what happens, GW has just announced that they are gonna bring back Necromunda and BloodBowl in some form and if they are releasing anything like that I´m most likely to pick them up.
The early mock-ups and sketches they showed on their 40th anniversary (the Forge World Open Day)last week was very promising I must say. Check them out here!
